Nashville Zoo Green Team is teaming up with the Tennessee Environmental Council to be part of a statewide initiative, 100K Tree Day, giving out native trees. Tennessee Environmental Council provides bare-root tree seedlings at no cost to participants who agree to pick them up on Friday, Feb. 24 and plant them on Saturday February 25, 2017. Guests may pick up up to 5 trees (Redbud, American Plum, Shumard Oak, Tulip Poplar and/or Virginia Pine) at the distribution tent in the Zoo's parking lot between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24. While it's free for guests to pick up tree seedlings, advanced registration is required.
