Light in Photography
Of all the important factors of taking a great picture, none is as important as light. Together we will build our own pinhole cameras and develop our own photographs. We will learn the basics of composition and how to capture the perfect amount of light.
Friday, Dec. 22
Light in Color
Is black a color, and what makes a red ball red? We are investigating all things color on Friday. Learn about how many colors it takes for a screen to work, what color our shadows are, and create some very colorful art.
Wednesday, Dec. 27
Light in Nature
You’d be surprised at how many lights can be found under, on, and even in our rocks. We will discover how animals use lights to communicate and keep them safe and learn what a rainbow is made of. For this day of camp, we will learn how we interact with light in nature every day.
Thursday, Dec. 28
Light in Motion
Find out on this fun-packed day how light affects what we see and how we see it. Make your own zoetrope and kinetic sculptures, and find out how light moves.
Friday, Dec. 29
Light in Art
Let’s put this major design element to work as we paint, sculpt, and print with light. Campers on this day will create works of art using some out-of-the-box techniques and methods using light as their main source of inspiration and media.
