Campology – Day Camps at Discovery Center

Each camp offers an opportunity for exploration of museum exhibits and outdoor play, weather permitting. Throughout the school year, CAMPOLOGY is available during special school holidays, offered as one-day camps, and is also available as week-long day camp sessions during fall and spring breaks. When school’s out for summer, we offer multiple week-long day camp sessions. See below for more details about each of our CAMPOLOGY offerings.
NOTE: In the event of extended closures or cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will refund 100% of any camp registration fees. All camps operate at limited capacity, utilizing cohorts of a maximum 1:10 ratio of counselors to campers. Our number one goal is small group safety, and we require that all campers and staff wear masks, practice social distancing, and complete temperature screenings each day.
Available for pre-K through 5th grade only. Must be at least 4 years-old to attend camp.
Winter Campology: Animal Companions
December 21-23, 2020

Animals are humanity’s best friend! During this 3-day camp, get up close and personal with Discovery Center’s animal residents. Bring your camper to the Discovery Center for a week of pet-care projects and learning about our friends in the animal kingdom. At the end of the week, campers will receive a Pet Patch.

Winter Campology: Discovering Dinosaurs

Roam through the Mesozoic Era with Discovery Center Campology as we dig to uncover the wonders from the age of dinosaurs. Each day will focus on a different age of the dinosaurs: Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous! Campers will get hands-on with science experiments, creating art, building maker projects, and more. A special Dino Patch will be awarded to campers at the end of the week.

Winter Campology: Mind Over Matter

Your new, year attitude is all about mind over matter – it depends on how you look at the state or situation! In this New Year’s Campology day camp, campers will look at the 3 states of matter and how they change from one state to the next with hands-on science experiments and demonstrations. A special States of Matter Patch will be given to campers at the end of the week.

Winter Campology: Grossology

Farts, burps, and sneezes, OH MY! Why do our bodies make such weird noises and fluids? During this Winter Campology day camp, campers will get the opportunity to look at a few of the strange bodily functions that keep us healthy. Activities include snot slime, digestive system models, and toilet paper limit tests. Campers that attend this Day Camp will receive a Grossology Patch.
