Leadership Academy
At Leadership Academy, we believe that play and exploration increase creativity, confidence, and social intelligence. By playing with others in a camp community, children build competence, autonomy, and relatedness that drives intrinsic motivation and happiness.
Leadership Academy is a summer company that creates camp adventures for the youth. We design and operate camp programs for children with a goal to get more people outside, exploring, learning, playing, and having fun so they develop a strong sense of self and a deeper connection to nature.
Our Camps:
Camp Twigs at Sanders Ferry
For ages: 5-12, Teen Leaders 13-17
Our newest camp, Camp Twigs Sanders Ferry, is located at Sanders Ferry Park in Hendersonville, TN. Camp Twigs is an outdoor adventure day camp that forms friendships and a love of nature. Through their time at camp, kids develop confidence, grit, determination, and valuable social skills-all while getting sweaty, muddy, and stronger! Your child will love spending their days outside splashing in the water, meeting local wildlife, playing outdoor games, all with their new camp friends. You will love their newfound independence and confidence. Leadership Academy Camp Twigs at Sanders Ferry is a place where your child’s creativity and imagination can run wild!
Camp Twigs at Bells Bend Beaman
For ages: 5-12, Teen Leaders 13-17
Camp Twigs loves connecting children with nature! Every day at camp is filled with imaginative play, playing in the woods, meeting local wildlife, and more! Camp Twigs is a place where your child’s creativity and imagination can run wild. Camp Twigs at Bells Bend Beaman is an outdoor adventure camp located in two of Nashville’s most spectacular parks. Dividing their days between Bells Bend Park (Monday-Wednesday) and Beaman Park (Thursday-Friday), campers spend an entire week reveling in the beauty and joy that nature has to offer.
Nashville Sail Camp
For ages: 7-17, Teen Leaders 13-17
Is your child ready to take the helm for a sailing adventure? Nashville Sail Camp offers US Level 1 Sailing instruction in week-long or day-long sessions. Along with boat navigation, safety, and points of sail, your child will learn valuable problem-solving and creative thinking techniques. Campers spend their days onshore and on the water and will come home with plenty of hands-on sailing experience!
Mountain Bike Camp
For ages: 9-17, Counselor in Training Positions are available
Is your camper ready to hit the trail? Our Mountain Bike Camp is a great way to enjoy nature and improve skills. Camp is for all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced. Qualified instructors teach bike maintenance, set-up, and a variety of riding techniques to help campers get out on the trails. The camp day is set up with classroom sessions, skill assessments, drill practice, hands-on bike work, trail rides, and classic camp activities including games, songs, and crafts. Campers must provide their own bike, helmet and required safety gear. For ages 9-17.
Teen Leaders
For ages: 13-17
Leadership Academy shares your goals to help teens grow into healthy, strong young adults. That is why we have developed a range of opportunities that develop skills in outdoor recreation and community leadership. We have multiple programs to choose from, with sessions open all summer at all camps. If your teen is into being outdoors, we have something to keep them busy, having fun, making friends, and learning skills.
We have 2 programs to choose from Leaders in Training (LIT) and Counselors in Training (CIT).
Opportunities are available at multiple Leadership Academy camp locations!
