Mother’s Day Tea & Fashion Show at The Hermitage

Guests will enjoy a formal seated tea and hors d’oeuvres served in the parlors of Tulip Grove, home to First Lady Emily Donelson, who helped her uncle during part of his first presidential term. Chat with official hostess Sarah Jackson, Jackson’s daughter-in-law, who will share tales of her life as First Lady after Emily had returned home. Following the tea, guests will retreat to the garden and enjoy a 19th-century Fashion show, featuring the evolution of women’s dress and how styles reflected the times they lived in.
Guests are invited to dress in their “Sunday best” and model their favorite tea hat. All mothers will also receive a small take-home gift. Crafts and lawn games will be set up for our littlest guests.
All event tickets must be bought in advance online. Admission to the event does not include general admission to The Hermitage. Show your Mother’s Day Tea passes at the Ticket Office and receive $2.00 off admission!
The morning tea will begin at 11 AM and the afternoon tea will begin at 3 PM. Each program will last approximately two hours.
