ABOUT THE BOOK: Ever since her mom was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease, Cassie and her dad have been getting by. Sure, Dad has a bunch of new rules to keep Mom safe, and Cassie is having trouble creating her art. But Mom is still happy taking walks in the desert and looking at her dolphin collection, so Cassie develops a new routine. Then Mom forgets Cassie’s name, and Cassie can no longer accept her new normal. Remembering Mom’s bucket list from before she got sick, Cassie decides to break all of Dad’s rules— she’s going to bring Mom to swim with the dolphins for real.
