60-minute guided house tour of Carnton where children and adults can explore the stories of the McGavock family, the enslaved people, and the Battle of Franklin. Learn about Civil War medical practices and how the home was used as a field hospital.

In compliance with the Governor’s Tennessee Pledge and CDC guidelines, all tours are limited to a maximum of eight guests, with no exceptions.

Tickets: $18 for adults, $8 for children (ages 6-15), chilren under 6 are free

THIS TICKET INCLUDES:
60-minute guided tour inside Carnton
Map and access to the grounds, outbuildings, family cemetery, and garden

HOURS

  • Monday through Saturday - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

  • Sunday - 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

Classic Tours are offered at the top of every hour starting at 10:00 am. You will receive your tour time when you purchase your ticket. The last guided tour of the day begins at 3:00 pm.

The grounds close at 4:00 pm. Guests typically spend 30 to 45 minutes exploring the grounds, outbuildings, garden, and cemeteries at their own pace.
