Pip and Pickles Welcome You to Summer Camps 2023
Now Enrolling Campers ages 5 to 16
PLAY IN NATURE, CREATE, LEARN ABOUT FARMING, PARTICIPATE IN A WIDE VARIETY OF PROJECTS!
In the past three summers we have seen the need for children to build extensive friendship and community in the wake of the pandemic. This is why we created two sessions of three weeks each. In this way, we aim to empower our campers to develop more meaningful relationships and connections with other campers as well as experience a growing sense of belonging and autonomy within the context of our guided farm and lab activities. Give them the gift of time to develop competencies, self expression, and confidence while building on experiences and developing projects.
Campers who are 13 to 16 years of age will have options to join groups in all activities, and may also elect to take on more of a leading role in various projects on the farm with the animals and gardens as Junior Farm Apprentices or JFAs for short.
Every Friday, JFAs orchestrate our farmer’s market for the benefit of the families. Children and adults alike enjoy a few minutes at dismissal to pick produce, eggs, and art work “on sale”, as items are included in you camp tuition, campers can invent their own system of currency and set prices!

What campers like to do at Pip and Pickles farm
Our explorations take us on many adventures throughout the natural landscape. Children may look for treasures such as geodes and fossils, engage in birdwatching, compare creek and pond ecology, build a herbarium collection, and care for our farm animals. Children love to tend our organic garden, water plants and themselves, help raise our chickens and goats, participate in our farm economics project, and enjoy preparing goods for the farmer’s market!
We also make yoga stories and dance, create ropes courses, sing, play drums, paint and create sculptures, engage in theatrical activities and podcasting news or shows with light and shadow, as well as build our imagination in the Exploratorium ( and yes get a little bit of cool air conditioning on a hot day). We hike with and without goats, play sports, and express the mind through art, music, writing, and handwork.
