Litter is one of the most critical issues for urban waterways, as everything that that is dripped, dropped, or spilled on the pavement is washed through the storm sewer system into the waterways.
Each volunteer will get a #grabthelitter bag to take home and reuse many times so they can continue this practice beyond MLK day and make a lasting collective impact on our waterways. Volunteers will then independently fill their #grabthelitter bag by collecting litter. We will then sort the litter together into trash and recycling to be taken to the proper disposal location.
Stop by Richland Park any time between 11:00am-2:00pm, and stay as long as you like! We will provide bags, gloves, and guidance! You can come and go as you please and pick up as many bag loads of litter as you want. We look forward to seeing you there.
