A CAPITOL FOURTH: 250TH WEEKEND CELEBRATION kicks off America’s Semiquincentennial - and we’re going all out! Broadcasting live on July 3rd from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, A Capitol Fourth: 250 Weekend Celebration will feature the national television debut of country music icon Trace Adkins’ new song “American Made”, along with spectacular fireworks live from George Washington's Mount Vernon. The Duck River Outdoor Expo is an annual event dedicated to the conservation and education of the Duck River. Held at Henry Horton State Park with six miles of shoreline, the expo aims to promote the preservation of this biodiverse watershed. The expo is July 10th – 12th, 2026, and benefits Henry Horton State Park and the conservation of the Duck River. We consider the main event to take place on Saturday, July 11th from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Through a variety of interactive exhibits, presentations, and events, attendees can learn about local wildlife, our conservation efforts, and sustainable outdoor practices. With activities ranging from the Run Duck Run, Disc Golf, and Mountain Biking to live music, the expo fosters a deeper appreciation for the Duck River while inspiring individuals to become stewards of their environment.
