Vanderbilt researchers are seeking people who are pregnant for a 2 year study focused on
infant experiences and brain development! Prospective parents will be asked to participate in
interviews, complete questionnaires, and use small, wearable devices to track movement and
family interactions. Following birth, your baby will be invited to complete a non-invasive MRI
scan at three time points (ages 1, 6, and 12 months) to track how their brain changes.
Parents will also complete interviews and interaction activities. Eligible participants will be
compensated $25 per hour and $20 each day of using the devices (with a total compensation
estimated as $1,350 across the study). We will schedule visits around your availability (daytime,
evenings, or weekends!).
To be eligible for this study, you must:
- be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident
- be at least 18 years old
- be fluent in English
- have a monolingual household
- have a single-gestation pregnancy
- have no immediate plans to leave Nashville or the surrounding area
