Archaeology Camp: Advanced

Reimagine the past! This camp explores how Native Americans made tools and understood their world and how archaeologists have studied them for nearly 200 years. Campers will examine ancient technologies and ideas and take a field trip to a 1,000-year-old Native American mound. Space is limited, so register soon!

This camp will build on the lessons of the beginner archaeology camp. We will learn more about the Mississippians, the Native Americans who lived in this area, by studying the pictographs they made in caves, the tools they used to hunt and start fires, and the artifacts that depict their beliefs. On the last day, we will visit the Fewkes Mound in Brentwood to experience firsthand how they shaped their world.
