Leave No Trace
Sunday, April 17 | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Forests, parks, and public lands help provide us with clean air and water. But they are also important for less tangible reasons, for they exist as fragmented reminders of where we came from and who we are.
Learn more about deforestation and erosion, city planning and the importance of “green spaces,” and try your hand at soil testing. Our friends from Cumberland Transit will be onsite, as well as our friends from the Nashville Geocaching Club who will help you better understand environmental stewardship, orienteering and GPS science.

Wet and Wild World
Monday, April 18 | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Water is Life”… as the saying goes. Like all life, we are mostly composed of it – and must replenish it on a regular basis to stay alive. Water resources are being abused, but education and action can help us to start taking better care of the resources that provide us with our freshwater.
Dive into water sciences with our friends from Cumberland River Compact and the U.S. Fund for UNICEF Tap Project, as you gain a deeper understanding of why water is SO important.

Flora and Fauna Fun

Earth Day, Every Day
Friday, April 22 | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The extraction, manufacturing, transportation, and final disposal of all consumer products and packaging, excluding food, accounts for 29% of US greenhouse gas emissions. Recycling items such as paper, plastic, glass, aluminum, batteries, used oil, tires, and electronic reduces the need to extract new raw materials from the earth and can help reduce emissions of heat-trapping gases into the atmosphere.
Spend some time in the Tinkering Garage using recycled materials and e-waste to build something new, learn how to make recycling a habit at home, and more!
