Falconry Program

Join us for this family-oriented program that will feature an awe-inspiring look into the ancient sport of falconry.

Retired biomedical researcher Jim Primus will present “An Introduction to Falconry: Hunting with Birds of Prey.” Primus, who is also Owl’s Hill beekeeper, will discuss the history of the ancient sport, what it takes to become a licensed falconer, how he goes about training his wild hawks for sport hunting and other aspects of falconry. The program will include demonstrations of the birds’ hunting prowess using training food.
