Family Program: Invent An Instrument

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 06/15/2019
Country musicians sometimes play a role in creating their instruments. Players of the past, and some contemporary musicians, have built their own instruments using household items or materials found in nature. Take inspiration from instruments in the galleries, such as a nineteenth-century banjo made of hand-split white oak and groundhog hide, or a repurposed washboard used by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Then use recycled household materials and your imagination to create an instrument of your own. Ages four and up. Taylor Swift Education Center. Included with museum admission. Free to museum members.
