*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 03/14/2026
Country music has diverse roots, including in Irish culture. Caitlin Rafferty, a passionate dance educator with thirty years of experience and a former member of the University of Notre Dame’s World Academy of Irish Dance group, will lead a lesson in traditional Irish dancing. She will teach basic Irish step dance techniques to the sounds of British Isles fiddle tunes, which influenced early American music. Get your feet moving while learning about the importance of this dance tradition. All ages. Taylor Swift Education Center. Included with Museum admission. Free to Museum members. Tennessee children ages 18 and under from Cheatham, Davidson, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson, and Wilson counties receive free Museum admission. Plus, up to two accompanying adults receive 25 percent off admission. Proof of residency required.
