Hendersonville Summer Camps 2016

June 6-11: Instructors, Sandy Kandros (Hendersonville High School, ages 10-15) & Tracy Givens (Shaefer Middle School, ages 6-10) present this week long camp, 9am-Noon daily, for children ages 6+. Children will expand their creative skills, working on multiple 2D & 3D projects in a fun environment at historic Monthaven. Projects will include painting, drawing, still life, hand building sculptures, and more. The camp is a survey of our 9 month Arts After School program, compressed into one week. The camp will be conclude with a reception (food and refreshments served) in our professional Art gallery where children can showcase their projects & share a photo opportunity with family.
June 13-18 : Imagineering Camp. This camp inspires the use of imagination, critical thinking skills and creativity to design and construct art, 3D structures and innovative play objects from upcycled materials. This camp is for the 6-12 year old child that thrives in a space where they can unleash their ingenuity and zeal for tinkering and design thinking. Students will learn elements of design, construction and how to expand their thinking abilities. Presented by: Dee Kimbrell
June 20-29- Film Camp 2016. In this 9 day camp, teams learn professional techniques and apply them to create a short film, from concept to completion. 9am – 3pm daily, Monday – Saturday/Wednesday. Ages 12-20.
July 11-16 Bettye Zettergren (retired Merrol Hyde Magnet School) presents her week long Art Camp for children ages 9 and below. Children will expand their creative skills, & knowledge of historical Artists, while working on multiple 2D & 3D projects, in a fun way, at historic Monthaven. They will built sculptures, paper mache creatures, create paintings, drawings, and more. 9am-Noon daily. The camp will be conclude with a reception in our professional gallery for children to showcase their projects & share a photo opportunity with family, with snacks and refreshments served.
