From freedom announced in 1865, to Black progress demonstrated at the Negro Building during Nashville’s 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition, to freedom expanded in 2026, this year’s celebration honors the legacy of those who came before us while creating space for the culture, creativity, music, food, business, family, and joy that continue to move us forward.
This year, we gather at Centennial Park for a living cultural experience rooted in history and built for community.
