Junior Docent Camp
*The event has already taken place on this date: Fri, 06/05/2026
Go behind the scenes of Nashville’s oldest historic house museum and experience history from the inside out! Junior Docents will explore museum work, interpretation, preservation, and leadership through hands-on activities—from using quill pens to learning what happens beyond the tour. Campers will build skills, confidence, and a deeper connection to history while learning from real museum professionals.

This camp prepares the campers for working at a public history museum. They will learn to lead the activities that Travellers Rest offers to students during field trips, they will explore every nook and cranny of the historic house and together give their parents a tour, and they will choose a topic of local history and prepare a presentation about it. There will also be fun challenges to attempt each day!
