Leading Ladies of The Hermitage at The Hermitage

The Jackson men may have owned The Hermitage, but the Jackson women certainly managed much of the plantation and kept the ship afloat! Sit under the shade with Rachel Donelson Jackson as she offers tales of her adventurous life and marriage to Andrew Jackson. Her niece Emily Donelson, the President’s official White House hostess, and her daughter-in-law Sarah Jackson, who lived 56 years as mistress of The Hermitage, will also be there to share their own stories of Washington and Nashville.
