Online Speech and Debate Camp - By School of Thought

Students will learn the fundamental technical and rhetorical speaking skills for debate and speech via a series of fun activities such as script-readings, storytelling, playing communication games, as well as writing and performing persuasive speeches.

After being trained in British Parliamentary style debate, learners will practice their persuasive skills in moderated and educational online debates.

Week 1
Day 1: Icebreakers and Introductions 
Day 2:  Interviews 
Day 3:  Body Language and Pantomime 
Day 4: Script Reading
Day 5: Extemporaneous Speech 

Week 2
Day 6: Show and Tell 
Day 7: How-To-Do Speeches
Day 8: Persuasive Speech & the Rhetorical Modes 
Day 9: Persuasive Speech & Rhetorical Devices
Day 10: For-or-Against Speech 

Week 3
Day 11:  Introduction to British Parliamentary Style Debate
Day 12: British Parliamentary Style Debate - Opening the debate
Day 13: British Parliamentary Style Debate - Building a Model 
Day 14: British Parliamentary Style Debate - Rebuttals  and Closing Faction 
Day 15: British Parliamentary Style Debate - Cumulative
