Wildlife in Your Classroom is designed for classes and Homelearners in Kindergarten through Grade 4. Interactive presentations include activities, demonstrations, taxidermy, multimedia visuals and a Q & A session with the naturalist, if time permits.

Topics:

Animals in My Neighbourhood
Learn about the basic needs that all animals have, their adaptations to survive, why they live in our neighbourhoods and how we can co-exist with them. Recommended for Grades 1-4
Choose from 2 Program themes. Choose one or two.
1. Animals in My Neighbourhood - Skunks and Coyotes
2. Animals in My Neighbourhood - Raccoons and Snow Geese

Schedule:
Tue: 9:00 – 9:45 am; 10:15 – 11:00 am; 1:15 – 2:00 pm
Thu: 9:15 – 10:00 am; 10:30 – 11:15 am; 11:45 – 12:30 pm; 1:30 – 2:15 pm

The presentation will begin and end as scheduled. A late start will result in a short program.

Registration: Register through the City of Richmond Registration Call Centre at 604-276-4300 (M-F 8:30AM-4:30PM)or visit www.richmond.ca/register to register online. A MyRichmond account is required. Deadline: 2 weeks prior to program date.

Fee: $85/session. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and AMEX. For cheques, please call the Nature House at (604)238-6188 (M-F 9:00am-4:00pm).

Class Size: Grades 1-4: 24 Max, Kindergarten: 20 Max. Homelearners: Minimum 5, Maximum 10 participants. One or two adults are required to manage students and facilitate Q & A.

Technology Requirements: The presentation requires a strong internet connection, and access to a video/sound system. We highly recommend connecting the laptop to a smartboard or projector and ensuring speakers are enabled to provide an optimal experience for all students.

Platform: Teachers and/or parents will receive a Zoom link prior to the presentation.

Cancellation: If notice is given less than 2 weeks prior to the program, a 50% refund will be given. If notice is given on or after the date of the program, no refund will be given. If your school is closed due to the pandemic or inclement weather, then 100% of the fee will be refunded.
