How America Found Its Sound invites families on a musical journey to discover how the music of many cultures came together to shape the sound of a nation. From the earliest songs of Native American communities to the deep expression of the blues, the creativity of jazz, and the storytelling of American folk music, each tradition has added its own voice to a shared musical story.
At the heart of it all is rhythm and the powerful act of gathering together. Across generations, people in America have used music to connect, celebrate, and tell their stories. As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, this program honors how rhythms, voices, and communities have always come together to create the vibrant and ever-evolving sound of America.
