Wilderness Adventure Trek

Wilderness Adventure Trek provides a unique opportunity for teens to become fully immersed in the wilderness for longer than a weekend camping trip, all with the guidance of Tremont’s experienced professional naturalists. Over the course of the week, your teen will learn about the wildlife, natural ecosystems, and biodiversity of the Smokies – and themselves!

Make this summer an adventure they’ll never forget.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park offers tremendous opportunities to learn about a diverse and beautiful part of the planet. Known for breathtaking views, clear mountain streams, abundant wildlife, and a variety of plants, this is the perfect setting for an introductory backpacking course. During this true backcountry wilderness experience, campers will sleep in the woods, swim in a mountain stream, kick back around the campfire, and make new friends to last a lifetime.

Campers should expect to be challenged physically and mentally as they hike, prepare meals, set up camp, and other tasks essential for living in the wilderness. But trust us, it’s going to be a blast.

As campers climb a mountain carrying everything needed to survive for 4 days and 3 nights, they will understand what backpacking is all about. This empowering experience will not only give your teen the skills they need for planning and enjoying a safe, successful backpacking trip, but will also provide the confidence needed for tackling big challenges and adventures in the future.
