 Camp Manitowa |
At Camp Manitowa our summer camp near St. Louis in Southern Illinois strive to provide campers an environment that fosters all the skills parents want their kids to develop early on in life. Our Rend Lake camp is a non-religions program that serves campers 2nd to 9th-grade. Kids gain independence, build self-esteem, and learn about cooperation and problem-solving, all while making new, lifelong friends. We offer a small community for campers so that they feel like they are part of the Manitowa family. By offering structured free choice activities, we encourage kids to feel a sense of belonging and control over their experience, which leaves them feeling empowered and able to learn and grow. We serve campers from St. Louis, Indianapolis, Chicago, Kansas City, Louisville, Nashville, Knoxville, Denver, and the many communities of Southern and Central Illinois.

During June and July, “The Valley” comes alive with summer camps. Campers participate in outdoor adventures, unplug from their electronics, and connect with each other. Although campers are tired at the end of day, they don’t want to leave … and they want to come back again and again because of the relationships and community they find at Deer Run.

Our Day Camp programs start at 9:00am & end at 4:00pm. For Barefoot on Location campers, we offer before & after care from 8:00am-9:00am & 4:00pm-5:00pm. Financial aid is available and no child will be turned away due to financial reasons.

Zoo camp is designed for the animal enthusiast in your family! While animals are a big focus of our camp programs, we strive for a balance between animals and nature while encouraging the other interests, passions and activities your child might have. Whether your child’s favorite animal is a tiger, they love to play sports, sing or enjoy art, there is something for them at Zoo camp and we are excited to explore and learn along with them!

Your kids will have a ball at our summer camp participating in our in-house activities including laser tag, video gaming, karaoke, arts/crafts, and indoor basketball! They also will hop on our bus and take fieldtrips to the pool, movies, museums, science centers and SO MUCH MORE!

Since 1980, Steve & Kate’s Camp has put kids in charge–allowing campers to choose from a variety of activities in real-time, including sewing, stop-motion animation, coding & gaming, sports & recreation, maker crafts, water play, baking, and more. As children are empowered to make their own choices at camp, they discover new reserves of confidence, resiliency, and creativity–learning to course correct and trust themselves as they go. Families can buy any number of days, to use at any time–no weekly reservations required. Or, buy a Summer Pass, which covers the whole season. Either way, any unused Passes are automatically refunded at summer’s end. Ages: 4–12 | Lunch, snacks & all hours (8am–6pm) included.

Camp Ben Frankel is a coed, overnight, non-denominational Jewish summer camp located two hours south of St. Louis, MO in Southern Illinois. We serve children entering 3rd through 12th grades (current 2nd-11th graders). We offer 100+ activities throughout the summer and campers are able to select their activities each week.
